Offensive Player of the Week: Bowling Green QB Matt Johnson
Sophomore quarterback Matt Johnson (Harrisburg, Pa.) went 19-of-22 passing for 244 yards and two touchdowns as Bowling Green defeated Murray State 48-7. Johnson's 86.4 completion percentage was the fifth-best single-game total in program history as the Falcons rolled up 660 yards of offense, the most for the program since 2004.
Defensive Player of the Week: Miami DB Dayonne Nunley
Senior defensive back Dayonne Nunley (Monroeville, Pa.) had 10 tackles, one interception and three pass breakups in a 14-0 loss to Cincinnati. Nunley was one shy of his career-best for tackles and matched a career-high for pass breakups in a single game. His interception was the 13th of his career, three shy of the Miami school record.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Miami P Zac Murphy
Senior punter Zac Murphy (Cincinnati, Ohio) had eight punts for an average of 52.4, including an 84-yard bomb, the longest in Miami history and the longest in Yager Stadium history, in a 14-0 loss to Cincinnati. His 84-yard boot is tied for fourth-longest in Mid-American Conference history.
Offensive Player of the Week: Northern Illinois QB Jordan Lynch
Senior quarterback Jordan Lynch (Chicago, Ill.) ran for 189 yards on 23 carries and completed 21-of-30 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown to lead the Huskies to a 43-39 win over Eastern Illinois. Lynch accounted for 424 yards of total offense to record his fourth career 400-yard game and it was his sixth career game with 150-plus yards passing and 150-plus yards rushing. Lynch surpassed the 100-yard mark in rushing for the 16th time in his career and the second time in three games this season as he led the Huskies back from a 20-0 early deficit to get the win. Lynch's 189 yards rushing were the second-highest total of his career as he averaged 8.2 yards per carry. Lynch has thrown a touchdown pass in 16 straight games dating back to the 2012 season opener vs. Iowa.
Defensive Player of the Week: Toledo LB Junior Sylvestre
Junior linebacker Junior Sylvestre (Hollywood, Fla.) tied for the team lead with 12 tackles, one shy of his career best, to go with one sack and two fumble recoveries in a 38-17 win at Central Michigan. Sylvestre put Toledo ahead, 14-7, in the first quarter by forcing a fumble on a sack and then recovering the ball and scampering in for a 22-yard touchdown.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Toledo KOR Bernard Reedy
Senior kick returner Bernard Reedy (St. Petersburg, Fla.) set up a fourth quarter touchdown with a 50-yard kickoff return in the Rockets 38-17 win at Central Michigan. In the second half, Central Michigan had cut Toledo's lead to 24-17 when Reedy took the ensuing kickoff to the Central Michigan 47-yard line. Six plays later, Toledo scored to increase its lead to 31-17 and take command of the contest.
