Two rival teams are coming together for a common goal. The girls volleyball teams from Central Tech and Strong Vincent put their on-court differences aside, to raise money for the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation.
From bake sales, dress down days and ticket sales, they were able to present the foundation with a check for $1,750.
"Even though we're rival schools, we wanted to come together as a community and support a local cause," said Selene Maggio of Central Tech.
"It was important for all of us to just come together," said Michaela Donnelly of Strong Vincent. "Since we're city schools, we don't have big schools or anything for us to raise as much money as possible."
Lilly Broadcasting will host the 6th annual Community for Kanzius Telethon on Monday, October 14th.
We invite you to join us to learn more about the status of the research and to learn how you can continue to support the effort.
You will be able to make your donation in a variety of ways: phone calls, texting and on-line.
