100 TICKETS REMAIN FOR
OCT. 19 CRYSTAL BOWERSOX SHOW
Performance Part of ‘Encore' Season of Events
MONROE, Mich. – Less than 100 tickets remain for Saturday's performance by "American Idol" runner-up and Toledo-area native Crystal Bowersox at Monroe County Community College's La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.
The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. The La-Z-Boy Center is located on MCCC's Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.
Bowersox last played at MCCC in 2011 when she sold out two straight nights, and her upcoming performance is part of the 2013-14 "Encore" events season at MCCC in honor of the La-Z-Boy Center's 10th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the college.
Humble beginnings and an undeniable passion for music have driven Bowersox to become one of the most recognized young voices and up-and-coming singer/songwriters in America.
Her emotive style, which combines many genres – most notably folk, rock and country –catapulted Bowersox from the cramped coffeehouses and cavernous subway tunnels of Chicago to millions of homes across America during her run to the finale of the 2010 season of "American Idol."
Along with an "old soul" of a voice, Bowersox's care-free style and "don't mess with me" attitude set her apart from the other contestants and eventually landed the self-taught songstress performances with the likes of the legendary Joe Cocker, Harry Connick Jr. and Alanis Morrissette.
Bowersox's first studio release, "Farmer's Daughter," chronicled her personal experience of dealing with a dark childhood, finding love and happiness as a young woman, and everything in between. She recently released her second album "All That for This," which was produced by Steve Berlin and features guest Jakob Dylan.
Tickets are $27. VIP seating is sold out. They can be purchased on the Web at www.monroeccc.edu/theater, in person at the Cashier's Office in the Warrick Student Services/Administration Building or via phone by calling the MCCC Ticket Hotline at (734) 384-4272.
