Millcreek Superintendent William Hall wants an outside source to review the district's finances.
That's the word tonight, as the school board prepares to meet and vote on the issue.
Superintendent Hall said that he wants to hire Alpern Rosenthal accounting firm out of Pittsburgh, to conduct a comprehensive review of the district's business operations.
According to Hall, it would include an evaluation of the district's current processes, as well as in-depth interviews with employees.
A recent audit blasted the district for fiscal mismanagement. It revealed that the district has been misusing funds and improperly transferring money.
According to Hall, the review is part of an effort to rebuild trust with the community.
"I've had an opportunity now in the past month to look internal, and to look at some of our processes and procedures," said Hall. "I think it's just another step in ensuring to everyone, our public, our board, that we're doing everything we can to make sure that the business house is in order."
The school board will meet with representatives of Alpern Rosenthal tomorrow evening at 5:00 p.m.
