Kirby Manown's (Belle Vernon/Belle Vernon, Penn.) 72 was good enough for medalist honors, while two Express teams finished in the top five at today's Cincinnati State Fall Invitational.
The Express "A" team captured first place with a score of 306, which was 14 shots better than Cincinnati State's "A" team. Blaze Hogan (Big Rapids/Big Rapids, Mich.) led that team with a 75, which was good for second place individually.
Other individual scores for the "A" team included: Harrison Long(Wilnecote/Tanoth, UK) with a 77, Timothy Dawkins (Big Rapids/Big Rapids, MI) with a 77, Philippe Weppernig (Luzern, Switzerland) with a 77 and Brandon Hoelzer (Fremont Ross/Fremont, OH) with an 81.
Long, Dawkins and Weppernig finished in a three-way tie for fourth place.
Meanwhile, the Express "B" team was led by Manown's 72. Other members of that team, which finished with a team score of 326, wereDru Hein (81, Jasper/Jasper, Ind.), Tyler Crossley (84, Jonathan Alder/Plain City, OH), Riley Robinson (89, St. Mary Catholic Central/Monroe, Mich.) and Neil Recker (98, Kalida/Kalida, OH).
Hein's 81 put him in a tie for 18th, Crossley tied for 31st, Robinson tied for 51st and Recker tied for 69th.
Vincennes University shot a 324 to finish in third behind the Express "A' team and Cincinnati State. The Express placed five guys in the top four with Manown (1st), Hogan (2nd), Long (t-4th), Dawkins (t-4th) and Weppernig (t-4th). Taylor Suggs (76) of Cincinnati State finished in third place.
The event, which featured 13 teams, was played at Browns Run in Middletown, OH.
