Taglianetti Lawyer: Trial Could Last 2-4 Weeks

Posted: Updated:

After weeks spent picking a jury, lawyers in the trial of a man accused of killing a local school official are set to make their opening statements to that jury Tuesday morning at the Chautauqua County Courthouse in Mayville, New York.

Anthony Taglianetti is charged with the shooting death of Clymer School Superintendent Keith Reed, Jr. Prosecutors say Taglianetti thought Reed was having an affair with his wife.

Today, defense attorney Nathaniel Barone told us he expects the trial to last 2-4 weeks. And he said it is not clear right now if Taglianetti will take the stand and testify.

Opening statements are set to begin at 9:30am Tuesday.

Judge John Ward will preside at the trial.
