A big prize is changing the game for a local laundry service.
Grape Vine Laundry and Linens won a $25,000 "tech makeover" from Velocity Network. The owners received the check Tuesday morning at the Manufacturer and Business Association.
The money will go toward a new server, work stations, firewall, and more.
Grape Vine beat out more than 40 businesses for the win.
They were judged based on their company's need, and how new technology will help them improve service.
"We thought this would be great way for us to really give back in a more meaningful way and through what we know best, which is technology," said Matt Wiertel of Velocity Network.
"It's just a huge shot in the arm I think it's great that they're willing to give back to the community," said Grape Vine owner Marybeth Graml. "I think it's even more wonderful that I was lucky enough to be the recipient, so I'm very excited."
Another $25,000 prize was awarded to a local nonprofit; the winner was the Erie County Historical Society.
