Three Philadelphia men fleeing from police, were hurt in an accident this weekend on an I-79 off ramp in Crawford County. State police say 34-year-old Alford Jones Jr. was fleeing from police, as he drove a Dodge Caravan south on I-79 Saturday night, at a high rate of speed.
The driver lost control at the exit 141 off ramp in Greenwood Township, crashing into an embankment. He and passengers, 45-year-old Jeffrey Waters and 37-year-old Matthew Gindhart were all hurt in the crash.
State police were assisting the PA Attorney General's office and Vernon Township police in the pursuit. 12News/SEENews checked with investigators in the AG's drug task force who say they were pursuing the trio in a case of forged prescriptions being used in the local area. Charges are pending. Members of the task force expect to release more information on Tuesday.
