Hundreds of Erie kids will be warm this winter, thanks to the PNC Foundation.
On Thursday they gave out the first batch of the 335 coats the foundation purchased for our area this year.
Students from the Barber National Institute were all smiles as they picked out their favorite colors.
The rest of the coats will be distributed to groups including Erie School District preschools, Erie YMCA preschools, and the Boys and Girls Club of Erie.
"It's a great program, although today's a beautiful sunny day it won't be long before its wet and rainy and snowy," said Marlene Mosco, the regional president of PNC Financial Services Group. "Hopefully with their good nice warm hoods they'll get their start early in the morning with a warm coat on their shoulders."
The PNC Foundation is giving out more than 1,000 coats in Northwest Pennsylvania for the Winter season.
