West Erie Fire Appears To Have Been Intentionally Set

Posted: Updated:

Fire inspectors say a house fire over the weekend on Erie's west-side appears to be arson.

It broke out early Sunday morning in a house along Poplar street, near 26th.

A neighbor reportedly spotted the flames and called 911.
Investigators say it looks like it started on the second floor and spread up into the attic.
It took crews about an hour to get it under control.

We're told there's no one living there, and at this point in the investigation, it appears to have been intentionally set.
Exactly how is still under investigation.
