Update: Two Injured in Fairview Crash

Posted: Updated:

It appears running a red light was to blame for sending two people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

State Police in Girard tell us 45- year- old William Schick of Lake City drove his vehicle through a red light at the intersection of Route 5 and Manchester Road.

He crashed into a vehicle driven by 28- year- old Adam McGeehan of Fairview, with his wife Laura McGeehan in the passenger seat.

The couple suffered serious injuries, and both were taken to UPMC Hamot. Schick and a passenger in his car were not injured.

A third vehicle involved was driven by Paul Simon of Erie. He and a passenger in his car were not injured either.

Schick is being charged with disobeying a traffic control signal, which is a summary offense and will likely result in a fine.
