LIHEAP Provides Assistance
With Home Heating Bills

(Dec. 3, 2013) WILLIAMSVILLE, NY. – If you need help with your heating bill, or if you know someone who does, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) can help. LIHEAP, a federally funded program that provides assistance to eligible customers to pay their home heating bills, opened in Pennsylvania on November 4, 2013. National Fuel customers are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for assistance, as funds are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Qualified applicants may be eligible for at least $100 toward their heating bill.  Those who are without service or have received a shutoff notice may be eligible for a crisis grant of up to $500.  Grant amounts vary and will be provided only while LIHEAP funding remains available.

LIHEAP eligibility is determined by household size and household income.  Customers who are unemployed or seasonally employed may also be eligible for LIHEAP to reduce the amount of their heating bills. You may receive LIHEAP benefits if your gross household income is at or below the following income levels:

Household
Size        2013-14 Maximum
Annual Gross Income Limit
1        $17,235
2        $23,265
3        $29,295
4        $35,325
5        $41,355
6        $47,385
For each additional person in the household, add $6,030.
