Dr. Curley Court Date on E-Spying Charges

Posted: Updated:

Dr. Steven Curley, lead researcher for the Kanzius cancer project had a scheduled court hearing in Houston today on those personal legal charges he's facing.

As we've been reporting, police in Houston accuse Dr. Curley of electronic spying on his ex-wife's computer activities.

Last August police charged Curley and Hank Lehmann, an I-T staffer at MD Anderson Cancer Center, with installing a popular software computer program on her computer to spy on her.

It's a second degree felony, officially called "illegal intercept."  Curley maintains his innocence.

Court sources in Texas tell us the full hearing may be re-scheduled for a later date, as Dr. Curley's defense team works to prove his innocence.

If convicted, he could get up to 20-years in prison.
