A new group called Erie Animal Watch is raising money and awareness for their organization. This weekend, they hosted their first public benefit at the Huzar club on East 10th Street.
Animal watch formed about a year ago to help or advocate for any animal in a bad situation. Founder Sara Macosko said, "We want to build relationships with people in the community so they have some place to turn if they have an animal situation, we're raising money so we can continue to do the things we do in the community, making changes where needed."
So far they've helped with chained dogs, searches for lost pets, and finding shelter for feral cats. You can find more information on the group's facebook page.
