Members of the community are joining forces once again, to reduce violence in our area.
Tonight, Mother's Against Teen Violence Founder Sonya Arrington hosted a "Call to Action" meeting to discuss anti-violence measures in Erie.
Concerned citizens spoke with members of the Community Action Committee, about the Community Action Plan, which focuses on improving families, neighborhoods, and religion within the community.
Tonight, the group focused on the religious aspect of that plan, reaching out to ministers for feedback. In doing so, they hope to reduce crime.
"We are the ones that should be instilling the decency within our youth," said African American Concerned Clergy of Erie President Tony Ratcliff. "It would be done through the parents within the congregation to the point where we would be able to avoid the behaviors we are seeing on the street."
Arrington hopes to host these meetings every month.
