Driver Goes Awry on Peach St, Plummets 20 Feet into Creek

Posted: Updated:

A car accident just after 3am Sunday involves one driver plummeting more than 20 feet into the creek below.

It happened the 5500 block of Peach Street, across the road from Millcreek Community Hospital.

The driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into two parked vans at Kearsarge Auto Parts. The speed caused an impact strong enough to push one van aside onto a five-foot pile of plowed snow, leaving it totaled.

That didn't stop the driver, who cleared the pile and pitched nose-first into the creek below.

He was trapped in the vehicle until emergency crews lifted him out.

Debris from the car is still littered in the creek. His car, also totaled, along with the totaled van are both parked at Romesburg Auto.

Incredibly, the driver was not seriously hurt.  He was taken to MCC Hospital for blood analysis.
