A semi driving through Erie was apparently too tall to clear a bridge in the city. It happened just before 7:30 tonight. A truck was trying to go under the bridge at 14th and Liberty streets, when it smacked into the bridge, peeling the top of the trailer right off. The height restriction on the bridge was 12 feet 4 inches, and apparently the truck was just over that limit. It caused some traffic restrictions in the northbound land, as crews worked to clear the scene.
