Meadville City Council made a big move Wednesday night, approving plans for a new reservoir.
The Meadville Area Water Authority was at the meeting, talking out the details.
The current reservoir was originally built in the mid-1800s, and has undergone many repairs and upgrades over the years.
But now council has decided it's time to completely replace the reservoir with a new one, which will cost just over four million dollars.
Water rates in Meadville were previously raised to help cover the cost.
Construction is expected to begin at the end of the year.
