Man Arrested For Ammo Theft

Posted: Updated:

Millcreek police say team work helped them to nab a suspect wanted for allegedly stealing over $200 worth of ammunition from the Presque Isle Gun Shop at 23rd and Peninsula Drive.

Police identify the suspect as 25-year-old Logan Spinek.  Officers from the PA State Police, Erie Police and Presque Isle Park Police all assisted in following the suspect.  He was arrested when officers stopped the dark blue Dodge Caravan he was riding in at West 6th and Raspberry around 4:45 PM Saturday.

The owner of the gun shop came to the arrest point to identify the suspect.

Millcreek police will charge him with a summary offense for a $46 dollar theft of 9MM ammunition that took place just before 3:30 PM Saturday.  But police say Spinek was wanted for a theft of .223 assault rifle ammo valued at $202, back on February 5th.

Spinek's father was driving the car at the time of the arrest.  So far he is not facing charges.
