Erie Fire Victim Hospitalized

Posted: Updated:

A smokey fire in a West Erie home sent one man to the hospital Thursday night.

Crews found dark smoke billowing from the windows of a home at 1045 West 24th Street when they arrived on scene.

One person who was inside the home was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Erie Fire Department Deputy Chief Mike Fahey tells us they believe the fire started in the living room.

Responders kept it contained to the first floor, however, there is smoke damage throughout the home.

Firefighters had the flames knocked down in about ten minutes.

No official word from the fire inspector yet, on the cause.
