Crews Fight Early Morning Fire

   It's been a busy Friday morning for fire crews in the city of Erie. They had to take on an early morning house fire on the city's east side. It broke out around 4:30am at a 2-story house along Pennsylvania Avenue. Initially, crews were concerned that three people may have been trapped upstairs, but a check of the building revealed there was no one still inside. The home is being called a total loss. The search for a cause is now underway. Get the latest on this story throughout the day on 12News and SEE News.

Erie Fire Department fire investigators on are on scene and say they believe that the fire started at the rear of the house. The investigation continues this mid-day as they look to pin point the exact location and cause of this early morning fire.
