It's safe to say that society nowadays is becoming increasingly hi-tech with smart phones, ipads and more.
But some students at Mercyhurst University are logging-off and powering down.
The class is joining a national campaign, encouraging college students to "live life unplugged"
Professor Brian Sheridan and his communication students are joining more than five-thousand students nation wide.
For the next 3 days, students pledged to log off social media, turn off their cell phones, and stop multitasking.
And the "tech timeout" is already having an effect on the college students.
" I was away at home on Sunday and I had to find rides to make it back here to campus, and that was very difficult because I actually had to use the house phone which I hadn't done probably in years. "
"I use it more as a phone than anything else so I'm pretty decent about that. But it is pretty nice to be able to look things up go on the Internet, things like that. "
That "Tech Timeout", runs from March 30th through April 2nd.
