Erie Man Sentenced For Bringing Crack Into Courthouse

Posted: Updated:

The Erie man convicted of carrying crack cocaine into the Erie county courthouse is sentenced Wednesday.
Police say 30-year old William Gillespie was going through courthouse security, and empted out his pockets.
That's when he pulled out a bottle filled with about a dozen crack-cocaine rocks, and dropped it into the basket, right in front of sheriff's deputies.
They immediately took him into custody.

Wednesday, a judge sentenced Gillespie to 3 to 23 months in jail on a charge of drug possession, with the intent to deliver.
He will get some credit for time served.
