A 2-year-old child from Crawford County is in a Pittsburgh hospital, after he was shot in the face, just beneath the eye, with a gun.
State Police in Meadville say the incident happened inside a residence in a mobile home park on Sugar Creek Drive in Wayne Township, Cochranton.
Officers got the call around 1:45 Monday afternoon.
WICU 12 and SEE News has learned that a 4-year-old sibling was handling a loaded gun when it went off.
State Police spokesman Sergeant Mark Zaleski says three children were in the home at the time.
Their mother was napping when the 4-year-old picked up and accidentally fired the loaded gun.
He was flown to the Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he is in critical condition, according to Zaleski.
State Police say the District Attorney will likely review the case.
