Citizens Protest Harborcreek Intermodal

Posted: Updated:

Concerned citizens organized a protest against the proposed Harborcreek intermodal project on Monday evening.

A group of about a dozen picketed outside the Jefferson Educational Society, not deterred by the rain.

They strongly believe that the intermodal project would negatively impact the Harborcreek Community and hope their picketing would help bring the issue to the forefront for County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper, who was speaking at JES on Monday on her first 100 days in office.

"We're trying to get this project stopped because it is nothing that is good for our community. It will endanger our children, the fumes, the amount of traffic it will generate, it will have a tremendous
impact on business and negative impact."

WICU/WSEE will continue to follow any updates on the intermodal project.
