Friends and family said their final goodbyes Wednesday morning to Abram Sorek, 23 - a college student from Erie who was shot and killed over the weekend.
The funeral service drew a large crowd at the Mercyhurst University chapel.
Sorek attended Erie Day School, Mercyhurst Prep and was studying at St. Vincent college in Latrobe.
A busload of fellow students came to Erie for the funeral service.
He was hanging out with childhood friends at a home on Kahkwa Boulevard Saturday when a gun went off.
Sorek was shot in the head and later died at UPMC Hamot. His death has been ruled a homicide.
Erie county District Attorney Jack Daneri is reviewing taped interviews with people there at the time of Sorek's death. The police chief says they have been cooperative.
Two of those people were interviewed again - one yesterday and another today.
Police and the District Attorney's office are also gathering more physical evidence before any charges are filed in Sorek's death.
