Erie Motorcyclists Ride to Honor Fallen Biker

Posted: Updated:

Erie bikers took a ride this evening to honor Michael Machalinski Jr. of Albion, who died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday.

A group of about 30 people rode from the 26th Street Dollar General to Edward Garr Funeral Home, where a service was held.

The victim's family watched as the bikers rode in. They say it's something that Machalinski would have wanted.
"There's going to be a big crowd of motorcyclists coming because something sad just happened, my dad died. He's very special and very nice," said Roman Machalinski, 8, son of Michael.

"When BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) came in and told us what was going on today, you could definitely feel an added love and new family. And we'll have that continuing on and on," said Marlo Machalinski, Michael's sister.

The passenger riding with Michael was injured in the crash and has been released from the hospital.
