Many applauded the decision by NBA Commish Adam Silver to ban Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life but the reality is that he had no other choice and was doing his job. I liked the fact that it was quick and it was decisive, period. Considering the fact that 80-percent of the NBA is made up of African-Americans, the comments by Sterling were offensive and ignorant. For those who don't know, Sterling has been a thorn in the side of the NBA for quite some time and his reputation is not good going back decades because of numerous other incidents. One story I read today said LeBron James wanted to play in LA when he was a free agent a few years ago but refused to play for Sterling. That says it all. Sterling will sell his team eventually and make millions of dollars but, as they say, money can't buy everything and in this case, it can't buy back any of Sterling's dignity or reputation.
