LECOM students receive special recognition by taking national honors in the "Script Your Future" challenge.
It beat out 50 other schools to earn a National Team award. The program tests the abilities of students in patient education.
The school also won an award in creativity for teaching patients and the community about their prescriptions.
Roughly three out of four people do not take their medication correctly.
"A prescription is only as good as a person who takes it properly," said Hershey S. Bell, dean of the LECOM School of Pharmacy. "Taking it properly means taking the right medication at the right time in the right amounts and keeping them safe from those who should not be taking them."
LECOM received money as an award to promote patient education.
