Flooding Impacts Chautauqua County Roads, Schools

Posted: Updated:
Heavy overnight rains have taken their toll on roads in Chautauqua County, and prompted an early dismissal in at least one school district.
Flood waters apparently overpowered a storm drain along Route 86. Our news crew arrived to find workers using dirt in an attempt to funnel the water out of the roadway.
That crew also spoke with a company worker who said his business had six inches of water in the basement. He said there was a lot of mud to clear.
Students in Falconer, New York also got an early reprieve from the classrooms. We believe the high water played a role.
