Students celebrated their success this season in the Academic Sports League at Edinboro University Thursday.
Members of teams from 24 high schools gathered at Edinboro University to receive recognition for their accomplishments and scholarships.
Area colleges and universities awarded the students over $1.5 million dollars worth of scholarships and aid.
Collegiate Academy placed third in their division at a national competition in Hawaii in April.
The Academic Sports League promotes academic excellence.
"It takes a lot of collaboration, hours and hours of studying," said Dr. Tammie Smith, ASL program director.
"They have to read novels, prepare speeches, go through interviews, take seven different academic tests and exams, and be prepared to compete in super quizzes with other schools."
Next year's content will focus on new alternatives in energy.
The Academic Sports League added three more schools in our region this year.?
