The Erie City Mission today officially opened it's larger Kings Kloset in space once occupied by a tavern near 7th and French Street.
The facility is 3,000 square feet, much larger than the former cramped space nearby.
The facility is expected to help up to 200 families per week.
Items are given away for free. But there are rules based on the size of the family. All of the items are donated.
Andy Kerr of the Erie City Mission said, "Erie is such a generous city. It has been so fantastic. Donors have given so much to make it happen." The Kings Kloset is open Tuesday 12:30pm-2:00pm and Thursday 9:00-10:00am.
The facility is staffed by volunteers.
