It's all about the health and future of our waters. Eighty-five representatives from the Great Lakes states are in town for a Pennsylvania Sea Grant conference.
Sea Grant Pennsylvania is an outreach program run by Penn State Behrend and NOAA. They're hosting the great lakes sea grant networking meeting at the Sheraton Bayfront Hotel.
On Sunday the visitors took field trips, from biking at presque isle and perch fishing on the Edward John, to checking out the "green" roof at Asbury Woods.
Monday through Wednesday they'll get down to business with workshops and speakers on ecosystems, environmental issues and even on the new observation buoy in the Lake Erie. Pennsylvania Sea Grant fosters scientific research, education and training. It's all about promoting smart, science based decisions on the future of the Great Lakes.
