Erie Mob Murder Book Thrilling Summer Read

Posted: Updated:
Looking for a good summer read that thrills? How about the Erie-based murder memoir, "The Unholy Murder of Ash Wednesday."

On Friday night, the books's co-authors Jeff Pinski and former investigator Dominick Dipaolo celebrated the upcoming release of their book, which is 20 years in the making.

It tells the story the of 1983 mob slaying of Frank "Ash Wednesday" Dovishaw, and the seven year investigation that ensued.

It has a unique intrigue for readers, "because of the fact that it was a contract killing that started with guys in Erie and ended up with a hit man out of Cleveland," said co-author Dom Dipaolo. "It's the first time Erie saw something to this effect regarding a homicide."

"We're very pleased that there's been so much support and such a great turnout," said Pinski at the reception. "I think the folks will find the story as fascinating as we did in telling the story."

The book will be available on Monday June 23rd in stores and online.
