Tenant Dispute Ends in Basement Fire

Posted: Updated:
Things literally go heated tonight, when a tenant dispute ended in a fire, in east Erie.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. Monday, in the basement of an apartment at 1160 East 10th Street.  According to fire investigators, a tenant lit some clothes on fire.

Crews got everything under control in about five minutes and were able to prevent the fire from spreading.  We're told that besides the burnt clothing, there's no damage to the apartment.  However, firefighters say that this is actually the second fire at this place in one day.  A firefighter at the scene says that someone lit a garbage can on fire in the back of the home.

As of now, it's unclear if anyone is facing charges.
