Charges Filed in Accident that Killed North East Firefighter

Posted: Updated:
After nearly a year-long investigation, the Millcreek Police Department has officially filed charges in the case of a local firefighter that was hit and killed by a car.

The accident claimed the life of 44-year-old Brian Trimble--a volunteer firefighter at the Fuller Hose Company in North East.

The crash occurred on July 18 of last year, on Route 8 in Millcreek Township.  Police say Trimble was walking on the side of the road, when he was hit by a car driven by Eileen Zatynski of Erie.

Police are now charging Zatynski with careless driving causing an unintentional death and driving on roadways laned for traffic.
