This year's Alzheimer's walk got off on the right foot, with a kickoff party Wednesday night.
People who wanted to get involved met at Sunrise of Presque Isle Bay.
There was live music, a barbeque, and giveaways for the crowd.
Last year the walk raised more than $100,000, and organizers hope to surpass that again this year.
Guests Wednesday night learned about joining the Walk to End Alzheimer's team, and ways to volunteer their time.
"We're trying to get people involved by getting the excitement up for the fundraising year," said organizer Amy Schleicher, "get teams registered so they can get people on their team so they can start their fundraising."
The walk will be held at Liberty Park on Saturday September 20th. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
