Crews Keep Cathedral Clock in Tip-Top Shape

Posted: Updated:
It was cleaning day at Saint Peter Cathedral, and that can be a tall order.

Workers are seeing that the cathedral's clock tower stays in tip-top shape. They made their way up more than 200 feet for maintenance and cleaning.

A crew from Northwest Restoration of Erie was hanging out up there Wednesday.

Work is needed to keep the clock and 12 bell chimes in working order. They date back to 1903.

The rim around the clock is also being sealed to protect it from water damage.

The workers did have a little help from Bishop Persico, who prayed for them at mass Wednesday morning.
