Before our local legislators can get back to the state budget business in Harrisburg, they rolled up their sleeves for some friendly competition to curb hunger.
It was the 2nd annual Legislative Challenge, which puts local leaders head to head at the Second Harvest Food Bank.
This year it was coined the "Legislative Jam," as they jam-packed boxes with Welch's jam.
They tried to pack the most pounds of jam in one hour.
Competitors up to the task included Senator Sean Wiley, and Representatives Ryan Bizzarro, Pat Harkins, and Curt Sonney.
"It gives us an opportunity to educate the legislators about our programs and hopefully get them to understand the need for our programs," said Karen Seggi Executive Director of the Second Harvest Food Bank. "They're a friendly group, but when it comes to competition you know the gloves are off!"
Last year Senator Wiley's team was victorious. This year Representative Curt Sonney's team took home the trophy.
