The weather was perfect Friday for a round of golf, and many people found a good excuse to get out and play, for charity.
The 4th annual Irons for Angels golf outing took over the Crab Apple Ridge golf course Friday.
It was a fundraiser for Lucy's First Step, a foundation started by the Mitchell family, after they lost their daughter Lucy by miscarriage.
The couple wanted to help other parents who lost a child.
The foundation covers burial expenses, and offers a group therapy program, and individual counseling for parents.
Last year, the golf outing and auction raised $11,000, "I cannot possibly express how exciting this is for us. I'm so very thankful to our golfers who come out, and the people in the community who contribute to our auction and our donors," said Lucy's First Step Founder Leslie Mitchell.
144 golfers participated in this year's outing, it's the largest in the 4-year history of the event.
