Investigators are releasing new information on an officer-involved shooting in Jamestown, New York.
Twin brothers from Buffalo, New York are facing nearly 22 additional charges in connection to the case.
Jaqwan and Maqwan Martin—both 23-- are facing multiple counts of robbery, aggravated sexual abuse, assault, and firearm charges. The two were arrested at the scene of the incident, which happened two weeks ago.
On the early morning of July 1, officers exchanged gunfire with a group of suspects, including the Martin brothers, at an apartment on Falconer Street in Jamestown.
Police say one of the suspects shot at an officer, who was approaching the door. An officer then fired back. No police were hurt, but they believe a different suspect might have been shot.
As of now, police aren’t saying if one of the Martin’s fired the gun at police. It’s also unclear exactly what happened during the home-invasion robbery.
In a phone interview, Captain Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department described this incident as unsettling.
"Unfortunately, as of late, this is becoming more commonplace, which is very troubling for us in law enforcement,” said Captain Samuelson. “This case specifically, it involves numerous different suspects who we had to pursue not only here in town, but also in Erie County and Buffalo."
Both suspects are being held in the Chautauqua County Jail on one million dollars cash bond.
Captain Samuelson tells us that the department plans to charge several other suspects in this case in the next several days.
