Waterford Worker Injured on Farm

A worker in Waterford was flown by helicopter to UPMC Hamot after falling into auger equipment used to move crops. The accident happened on farm property listed to the Troyer group which is near the plant where KLN is looking to restart the former Troyer Farm chip plant.

The 57-year-old employee was doing cleaning work when he fell into the auger. He was trapped for 30 minutes and suffered multiple traumatic injuries.

Emergency crews rescued him and he was flown to UPMC Hamot.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
