Careless Cooking Sparks Overnight Fire In Erie

Posted: Updated:
Careless cooking is to blame for a fire which left an Erie man hospitalized, after he narrowly escaped the overnight fire.

He had to be rescued by Erie fire fighters.

It broke out around 1:30 Friday morning, at a house along east 12th, in between Ash and Reed streets.

There are at least three apartments in the building.

Crews on scene say it started in an upstairs apartment, fire investigators say it started because of careless cooking.

A 22-year old man living there barely escaped in time.

Everyone else in the house got out safely.
