Update: Motorcyclist in Critical Condition After Crash

With thousands of motorcycle riders in town for the Roar on the Shore there's a motorcyclist in critical condition in the hospital Friday morning after a crash on the city's east side Thursday night.

The accident happened along East 38th Street at the intersection of Lake Pleasant Road around 9:30 p.m.

According to Erie Police the motorcyclist, 66-year-old William Stablein Sr., was traveling east on East 38th St. when a car driven by, 67-year-old Patrick Bucceri who was driving westbound across East 38th St. crossed the path of Stablein while trying to turn south onto Lake Pleasant Road.

Stablein Sr. was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he is currently in critical condition. Bucceri was not injured in the accident.

Erie Police say that the accident is currently under investigation and that no charges have been filed at this time.
