A man who went missing in Wintergreen Gorge overnight has been found alive this morning.
Pennsylvania State Police say a 58-year-old man was hiking with his son Thursday afternoon when they separated and lost each other in the gorge.
Police and nearby fire departments searched more than six hours for the man, who was found in the gorge behind Penn State Behrend around 7:45 this morning. Crews searched on the ground and in the air to find the man, who reportedly wasn't in the gorge all night.
"Somehow the father made his way out of the gorge during the evening and returned this morning but was still in the area when he was found. He has checked out medically and cleared by the staff here,” said Sgt. Mark Zaleski, of the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop E.
Police have not released the man's name at this time.
