The two suspects in a Westfield, New York murder investigation were brought into custody Friday morning in Erie.
WICU & WSEE caught the search for the suspects on camera, near the railroad tracks along west 16th street.
Friday evening, Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace says 61-year old violinist Mary Whitaker was killed at her rural summer home in Westfield.
She had been shot and killed during a robbery attempt, police say the suspects then stole her vehicle.
Those suspects are identified as 43-year-old Jonathan Conklin and 30-year old Charles Sanford.
The suspects were traced to Erie, after Whitaker's stolen credit card was used at an Erie store. Whitaker's stolen car was also found Thursday night, 35 miles away from her home, here in Erie.
WICU & WSEE cameras were there Friday morning, when Erie police officers were searching the area of west 16th & Sassafras and Myrtle, near the railroad tracks. It was at that time that they took the two suspects into custody.
Officers then spent some time combing the area near the tracks, Erie police say it was in connection to the murder investigation in New York, but they won't say what evidence they were looking for.
Conklin and Sanford were brought to the Erie police station Friday, where investigators from several New York police agencies interrogated them for most of the afternoon, as part of the homicide investigation.
