David C. OLeary, MBA 81, Pledges $250,000 to Enhance Students Introduction to Business Administration Program

Amherst, MA (PRWEB) August 28, 2014

The Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst recently launched the David C. OLeary MBA Leadership Orientation Program, at the UMass Club in Boston. This orientation session for all incoming full-time MBA students featured panels with senior executives including David C. OLeary, MBA 81, former executive vice president and chief administrative officer at State Street Corporation.

Thanks to the involvement of alumni such as David, we can offer students innovative programming and career development services right from day one, stated John D. Wells, Associate Dean for Professional Programs. Isenberg has a number of very successful and highly engaged alumni and this is a tremendous opportunity for students to start building their network even before they take their first class.

This new orientation program for incoming students is a part of Isenbergs efforts to evolve and grow its MBA program. Other program innovations includes the MBA Fellows Program, which offers all full-time MBA students two years of full financial support, health care benefits, and an annual stipend. In exchange, they dedicate time to Isenberg and consult with senior management at the school on its strategic and operational challenges.

Mr. OLeary has been closely involved with Isenberg for many years. Im grateful to Isenberg because they took a chance on me, he stated. I believe in the direction that the program is taking and I want to do all that I can to help attract the strongest possible MBA candidates.

This sponsorship is an extension of the existing relationship between the Isenberg School at UMass Amherst and State Street. State Street managers in the Hadley, MA office employ Isenberg students part-time to help them gain professional experience while they earn their degree. Approximately 75 Isenberg students are working at the Hadley location.
