She successfully crossed the lake, but didn't go as far as her own personal goal. She suspended the swim in Long Point. This weekend she's trying to make good on her pledge to finish the span and swim the last 33 kilometers from Long Point to Port Dover.
She got a big sendoff at 9:30 PM Sunday, as she was taken by boat from Port Dover to the tip of Long Point. At 11:37 PM she began her swim to Port Dover. It's expected to take about 13 hours to complete the swim. Carr has been raising money for Camp Trillium, a year round recreational camp for children with cancer. Her goal was to raise $30,000 but sources say she has raised closer to $200,000 for the cause.
