Erie High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a student thought they saw a weapon in the building, school leaders said.
Erie Police and Erie School District Police were called to investigate around 12:50 p.m.
A woman received a text message about a weapon in the school and called 911, according to reports.
No weapon was found during the search.
"We appreciate the quick response of the EPD and our own district police, as well as the efforts of the Erie High administrators and staff, who reacted calmly and appropriately to the situation," said Daria Devlin, spokesperson for Erie's Public Schools.
The lockdown lasted only 20 minutes.
