Albion Wins Region Eight Tournament

The Albion Post 567 baseball team has won the Region 8 Tournament with an 8-0 win over St. Marys. They finished the tournament with a perfect record and now qualify for the state tournament in Boyerstown next week. Albion will compete in the tournament starting next Tuesday July 29th to Saturday August 2nd. More>>

Seawolves Take Series from Reading

The Erie Seawolves beat the Reading Fighting Phils 6-1 Wednesday afternoon at Uht Park in the rubber game of the three game series. Steven Moya hit his 25th homer of the season to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third. Moya leads the Eastern League in homers. Jake Thompson went the first five innings allowing just one run while striking out five to get the win. Erie stays home to begin a weekend series with Richmond on Thursday night. More>>

Arizona State Hires Thon Lacrosse Coach

Mercyhurst University graduate Joe Thon has been hired as the new head coach of the Arizona State men's lacrosse program. Thon is a 2007 graduate where he was a two-time NCAA Division II lacrosse All-American, Lakers team captain, and defensive player of the year. Prior to his new role with the Sun Devils, Thon spent two years on the practice squad of the Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse. Mercyhurst Hockey Programs Release Schedules

Mercyhurst University announced the hockey schedules for the men's and women's programs on Monday. Lakers head coach Rick Gotkin enters his 27th season and they will have 19 homes games on the slate highlighted by games against Merrimack and Ohio State. Seawolves Travis Named EL Player of the Week

Seawolves 2nd baseman Devon Travis was named the Eastern League player of the week for the weekend ending July 20th. Travis hit .435 with two double, two home runs, five RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base in six games.
